Duane Merrill

Duane Merrill is a life long Vermonter and since 1967 has conducted thousands of auctions in the Northeast setting many world records. Duane Merrill started Merrill's Auction Gallery in 1967 after parents Nathan and Margaret Merrill founded the Vermont Antiques Dealers Association and established Ethan Allen Antique Shop in late 1930s. Merrill's Auction Gallery is currently the largest auction house in Vermont.

Ethan Merrill

Ethan Merrill Third generation, raised in one of Vermont’s premiere antique families, grandparents Nathan & Margaret Merrill, establishing Ethan Allen Antique Shop, Inc., in 1938 in So. Burlington, Vermont and the Vermont Antique Dealers Association. Father, Duane Merrill founded Merrill’s Auction Gallery in 1967, Instrumental in forming private and institutional collections and accumulating a vast collection of early American antiques, Folk Art, firearms, Vermontiana, for several local institutions and collectors. Conducted and donated his time for over 50 non-profits and charity auctions for such groups as The Boys & Girls Club, Shelburne Farms, Shelburne Museum, Vermont Cares, St Albans Historical Society, Burlington City Arts, The AAUW, Champlain Valley Vocational Services, Community Health Center of Burlington, Swanton Historical Society, NRA youth program, Vermont Youth Conservation Corp. Member National Auctioneers Association Member Vermont Auctioneers Association. Graduate Missouri School of Auctioneering,1998. University of Vermont 1994 B.S.  Pitched in the minors and for the Boston Red Sox organization for four seasons 1994 to 1998. Led the minor league organization in wins in 1995. Quoted by Baseball American’s as Boston’s “Late Bloomer”. Named to SBHS first 10 athletic hall of fame.

Adam Demasi

Has been an auctioneer with Merrill's since 2006. He is a 10th generation Vermonter who studied Fine Art and Art History at the University of Vermont.   He has a wide range of current studies especially musical instruments, bicycles, prints and engravings, firearms, and early photography. In his spare time he collects and restores vintage guitars.
